As part of CWG’s commitment to improving the knowledge base of the ICT Industry in Africa, CWG Academy graduated another set of Graduates who have learnt from the very best in the industry and are poised to apply the knowledge gained to different fields in the ICT Sector.
At the event which held at CWG Headquarters in Lekki Lagos, the CEO CWG Plc; James Agada, congratulated the Graduates and advised them to keep up with their yearn and desire for knowledge. He stressed that in the new learning economy, what you know doesn’t matter; what you are able to learn is much more important. According to him, Passion and Knowledge are key components of a fruitful career journey and that is at the core of the Academy Curriculum and activities. Speaking further, he emphasized that If Africa must develop rapidly, then Africans must be properly prepared with the skills and technical know-how to effectively compete in modern era.
In strategically achieving this, CWG Academy was birthed with the goal to rapidly develop the content base in the industry and produce graduates who can hold their own in the ever evolving ICT World. The primary aim of the CWG Academy is to bridge the workforce gap in Africa by equipping fresh graduates with requisite knowledge that will make them employable or make them stand alone as tech-entrepreneurs who will use technology to proffer solutions to key challenges in the society.
Some of the Academy Graduates also gave testimonials stating that they have gained valuable knowledge and practical competence. Speaking, Ayogu Jude said “My coming here has made me know the in depths of ICT. It has also equipped with modern ICT Tools that will make me fit into almost any sector of the Economy. What I have been taught here has also pushed me towards my goals and will aid my career growth; it has really been worthwhile and I believe I have been impacted and made ready for the future.”
Continuing, Omogbura Clement, who majored in Software Development Faculty of the Academy had this to say “I thank CWG for the opportunity and platform that the Academy provides, it has helped me to realize the best I can be. During this period, I have pushed myself and exceeded the limits of whatever I ever imagined I will be able to know and apply in ICT”
Also sharing the story of how the Academy has impacted her career, Okoli Irene; A University trained Accounting Graduate joyfully commented saying “I had zero knowledge about ICT until I joined the CWG Academy. Now, 3 months after, I am confident to say that I am an ICT Professional.
The Academy is set up to transform Higher Institutions graduates to world class ICT professionals. It provides participants with an opportunity to learn from master tutors in a conducive learning environment where they can practice what they have learnt on the go.
